About Me

I'm a geek of all things sci-fi & fantasy, a big movie buff, and a huge fan of Star Wars, Doctor Who and Disney....Snow White is my favorite Disney princess, but Princess Leia is my favorite princess.

I love to draw, paint with my friends, and create graphic designs.
I also volunteer for projects and organizations that help to promote STEM/STEAM fields and activities to kids, esp. younger girls.  Halloween is my favorite holiday, and you can often find me cosplaying at a local pop culture convention (e.g. Emerald City Comic Con, SummerCon), local fairs and festivals (e.g. Washington Rennaissance Faire, Thrill the World! - Seattle Thrillers), or traveling the world for Star Wars Celebrations, Disney Expos and Doctor Who conventions.

All my interests and personal qualities are reflected in my current work and what I desire to do more of in the future...as you can see in the details below on my Styles, Themes, Professional Goals and even the place I live.

I graduated with an Associates degree in Graphic Design from Everett Community College in June 2023.  This is my second degree as I earned a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Washington in Chemical Engineering in 1995.  If you haven't guessed by now, Yes I am a mid-life career changer.

I worked for 24 years at Boeing as a design engineer.  I'm proud of the work I accomplished, the achievements I earned, and the friendships I made while at Boeing.  However, I decided it was time for me to focus more on my passions of graphic design and illustration, and to turn those hobbies into a profession, so I went back to school.

I'm also proud of all that I learned about graphic design and the artwork and designs I created while at Everett Community College.  I'm excited to show you, in my Gallery, some key pieces I designed at school and some pieces I made outside of school.

Location

Marysville, Washington (north of Seattle, north/east of Everett)

I grew up in Snohomish county in Western Washington, and I still live in the same county and general area as I grew up in.

I love living in this area because of its natural beauty, but also because of the opportunities here for designing and creating artwork, graphics, and programs in support of my mission to integrate art with science and technology

With all the high-tech companies around, the vibrant arts culture in nearby Seattle, and the great educational system, I believe the community is supportive in promoting STEAM fields to kids

My current and future designs will be an asset to this type of community.
